Spring may seem far away, but from a wedding planning perspective, it is not that far away at all. Now is the time for brides getting married in the spring to begin their dress shopping, especially since the 2015 collections are now hitting stores.
When choosing the right wedding dress, there are certain elements that are important: your budget, your style, the time of spring, and whether or not you are having an indoor or outdoor wedding.
The dress color is also an important consideration. There were a lot of white wedding dresses during New York Fashion Week. Some of the most well-known designers had lines up for display. Zac Poesen, Westwood, Vivienne, and Erdem are just some of the designers showing off their snow white wedding dresses. What one should note is that these designer dresses are not cheap wedding dresses, but there are some very nice ones online, some 2014 designs on sale, and your local dress shop may have a great deal for you as well if you are on a strict budget. However, there are some rather modest wedding dresses in the 2015 lines.
Spring Wedding Dresses for 2015
At Fashion Week, one dress by Zac Poesen got a lot of attention. It was not an overly frilly dress, but had a very unique front panel on a strapless floor-length design. It was plain, yet it was still beautiful with its flared skirt.
Erdem stepped things up with a two-piece wedding dress that looks more like a cutoff tank top and a long skirt with pockets. If the bride has something to carry, she can certainly do it with this dress. Erdem also introduced another dress with pockets. This one was strapless and the length extended to the shin. Erdem models are also famous for sporting black shoes with white wedding dresses.
Erin Fetherston showed that busy can still be in style with an all lace white wedding dress. The tank style top and sheer lace knee-length skirt would go well for an outdoor wedding.
Vivienne showed that gowns that flow will work well for spring. The thin material flows with the bride as she walks. This unique dress featured a simple strap on one side and a flowing sleeve on the other.
Michael Kors is known for unique designs, including cute wedding dresses with collars and lace. He even threw in a brown leather belt with a leather flower accent into the one he introduced during Fashion Week. This all-lace above-the-knee design is ideal for an outdoor wedding or one with décor to match.
Marchesa went wild with the tulle in a unique sleeveless design with tulle gathered in all the right places and a couple of colored flower accents thrown in. This dress showed that all white is not necessarily what has to be chosen. Brides can factor in some color and give her dress a unique touch.
Wedding Dress Ideas
If you need to opt for cheap wedding dresses, there are a few ideas that you can utilize to make that dress more lie what you want. You can take a page out of Marchesa’s book and add colored flowers and accents that may match the décor at your MA wedding venue if the wedding is inside. The bride can be a part of the overall look as well, just as long as it is not so overdone it is difficult to tell the difference between the bride and the tulle at the end of the aisle.
If you plan on having an indoor wedding, a strapless dress is fine or you may want something with short sleeves. You can also do straps, strapless, or short-sleeved outside. Because spring weather can be so unpredictable, you may want to consider a cute cover-up that you can wear over the dress so you don’t get too chilly. A short-waisted jacket or a shawl may be exactly what you need to keep the spring chill off of your arms. Once you hit the reception, you can take it off and bust a move on the dance floor without getting too hot.
So determine your budget first, determine your style, and make sure you integrate some of your personality into the dress. That will help you ensure you have the best gown for the biggest day of your life.
